View detailsLVT vs. SPC:
What's the difference?
Both are 100% waterproof luxury vinyl, but the secret is in the core. We consult with you to select the exact right material for your subfloor and lifestyle.
LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile)
Features a flexible PVC core. It feels softer and slightly warmer underfoot. However, because it flexes, it requires a flawlessly flat subfloor to prevent molding to bumps.
SPC (Stone Plastic Composite)
The heavy-duty upgrade. SPC features a rigid core made from limestone powder and PVC. It is highly dent-resistant and its rigidity easily bridges minor subfloor imperfections.

LVT & SPC Flooring FAQs
What is LVT flooring?
LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is a hard-wearing vinyl floor printed with a realistic wood or stone look. It's warm, quiet underfoot and water resistant, which makes it popular for kitchens, bathrooms and busy family homes.
What is the difference between LVT and SPC?
SPC is a type of luxury vinyl with a rigid stone-plastic core. It's waterproof, very stable and comes with a built-in underlay, so it's ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and rooms with temperature changes.
Is LVT flooring waterproof?
Our SPC rigid-core range has a waterproof core, so it's suitable for bathrooms, en-suites and kitchens. We seal the edges correctly during fitting so water can't get underneath.
Can LVT go on underfloor heating?
Yes. LVT and SPC both work well with underfloor heating, and they warm up quickly. We'll confirm the right product for your system during the survey.
Does LVT need a level subfloor?
Yes. Vinyl is thin, so bumps in the subfloor can show through. We check and level the subfloor before fitting so your new floor is flat and lasts.
LVT or laminate for a kitchen?
For kitchens and bathrooms we usually recommend LVT or SPC because they handle spills and moisture better than laminate. Laminate is a great choice for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
